PORT JERVIS FIREMANS PARADE
7/12/08 - PORT JERVIS NY - On Saturday, the members of Station 39 participated in the Port Jervis FIre Department's 158th Annual Inspection Day Parade. For nearly a month the members spent countless hours fine detailing both 39 Engine 2 and 39 Tanker in preparation of judges thorough inspection. Congratulations on a well deserved 2nd Best Appearing Tanker Trophy.
HUGUENOT LIVE BURN DRILL
7/20/08 - HUGUENOT NY - On Sunday, 39 Tanker assisted the Huguenot Fire Company with a live burn drill. During the fire, 39 tanker shuttled several loads of water to the Neversink Drive property from a near-by water source. In only minutes, the old 2-story home was reduced to ashes.
8/29/08 - WESTFALL TWP - At 11:29 hrs, Fire Station was alerted to assist the A-398 with a traumatic injury by setting up a landing zone for an inbound Medevac. 39 Engines 1 & 2 responded to the empty field adjacent to the Westfall Township building and established a safe perimeter for the helicopter landing. WIthin minutes, Medevac 2 was overhead and ready to land. The patient, transported from a nearby residence was safely packaged in the helicopter and off to trauma center. All units returned to service at 12:27 hrs.
SCHOOLBUS ACCIDENT
9/10/08 - WESTFALL TWP - At 07:47 hrs, Both Fire Station and Squad 39 were alerted for a 2 vehicle auto accident on Rueben Bell Drive near the Home Depot with unknown injuries. While enroute, PC-911 advised AC Jacobs (39-2) that one of the vehicles involved was an occupied schoolbus with 44 students prompting the dispatch of additional Squads from Stations 33 & 26. On arrival, EMTs from A-398 & A-399 as well as school personnel began evaluating each student one by one as well as the 2 occupants of the other vehicle. After a thorough triage, there were no injuries and the School District cleared the bus to continue to school. All units returned to service at 08:29 hrs.
USAF 1ST CLASS AIRMAN MARK DEVINE
9/18/08 - SAUDI ARABIA - Currently Westfall Firefighter Mark Devine is serving his Country in Saudi Arabia. Mark has been deployed as part of an Air Force Q.R.T. (Quick Response Team) and is responsible for maintaining the safe perimeter of his base. We are extremely proud of Mark as well as all US service men and woman and anticipate a safe and quick return to the states.
RELOCATE DURING PORT JERVIS 3RD ALARM
9/16/08 - PORT JERVIS - At 16:10, Station 39 was alerted for 39 Engine 1 to relocate to the Delaware Engine Company #2 in Port Jervis while they were battling a 3rd alarm fire at an Auto Repair Shop in the City's West End. 39 Engine 1 responded with a crew of 6 and remained on stand-by under 18:00
